Fwd: The 2.3% Medical Excise Tax----covers more than medical !!!

Subject: FW: The 2.3% Medical Excise Tax

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/95/pg1/srtpages

The receipt (pictured below) spells out what Obama wants to keep secret – we are being heavily taxed one more time...
"The 2.3% Medical Excise Tax that began on January 1st is supposed to be 'hidden' from the consumer, but it's been brought to the public's attention by hunting and fishing store Cabela's who have refused to hide it and are showing it as a separate line item tax on their receipts," the email states.

Now please hold on and bear with me before you say "OH, another Alex Jones article!" because I did some research and found directly from the IRS's website information that PROVES this to be true and an accurate portrayal of something hidden in Obamacare that I was not aware of!

Now being skeptical of this I went to the IRS website and found this!

Q1. What is the medical device excise tax?

A1. Section 4191 of the Internal Revenue Code imposes an excise tax on the sale of certain medical devices by the manufacturer or importer of the device.

Q2. When does the tax go into effect?

A2. The tax applies to sales of taxable medical devices after Dec. 31, 2012.

Q3. How much is the tax?

A3. The tax is 2.3 percent of the sale price of the taxable medical device. See Chapter 5 of IRS Publication 510, Excise Taxes, and Notice 2012-77 for additional information on the determination of sale price.

IRS.gov

So being more curious I clicked on "Chapter 5 of IRS Publication 510" And WALLAH! What do I find under "MEDICAL DEVICES" under "MANUFACTURERS TAXES"?

Manufacturers Taxes
The following discussion of manufacturers taxes applies to the tax on:
Sport fishing equipment;
Fishing rods and fishing poles;
Electric outboard motors;
Fishing tackle boxes;
Bows, quivers, broadheads, and points;
Arrow shafts;
Coal;
Taxable tires;
Gas guzzler automobiles; and
Vaccines.

IRS.gov

I think we have definitely been fooled, if we believe that the Affordable Care Act is all about healthcare. It truly does appear to be nothing more than a bill laden with a whole lot of taxes that we have to bear.

people have yet to be aware of!

Friends,

In the last week KT discussed Afghan President Karzai's claims the US and Taliban are cooperating and organizing attacks to give Americans an excuse to stay in Afghanistan.  We always knew Karzai was corrupt and incompetent.  Is he now crazy?  Nope, he's just following the time-honored Afghan tradition of switching sides.  He knows we're leaving and wants to claim he's the one kicking us out, so when the Taliban returns Karzai doesn't end up swinging from the lamp post, like his predecessor.

Obama gave Netanyahu the green light on Iran

By KT McFarland
Published 3/22/13

Most analysts think President Obama went to Israel in a public relations effort to smooth relations between the two countries. He wasn't aiming for any breakthroughs in the peace process, and tried to dampen expectations in advance.  The visit may have started out that way, but by the end I think something significant did happen.

There are signs President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu have come to some sort of private understanding over Iran. I think Obama gave Netanyahu a green light to do whatever Israel has to do to stop Iran.  America will give Israel the advanced weapons it needs for a preemptive strike against Iran's nuclear sites, but will not join in that fight. Obama said, "we've got your back," but did not say "we'll be with you shoulder to shoulder should fighting break out."

The joint press conference between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu was revealing:  The last time the two leaders met, their body language was so frigid you expected expect icicles to form on the windows. They could hardly bear to be in the same room with each other. Instead of the happy talk that usually accompanies Oval Office meetings they lectured each other, scowling the entire time.

This time you had to wonder if they were the same two guys.  All of a sudden they were like a stand-up comedy act in the Borscht Belt. They cracked jokes, complimented each other and smiled effusively.  They sure didn't act like two guys who had just been sniping at each other behind closed doors.

But it wasn't just friendlier body language; what they said was even more revealing. Here are four things that caught my attention:

1.  Obama and Netanyahu both said Israel has the right to defend itself, by itself, against any threat.   They've said those words before, but this time they kept repeating the mantra, saying it several times, often using the very same words. Netanyahu said, "Israel can never cede the right to defend ourselves to others, even to the greatest of our friends." Obama said, "your first task is to keep the people of Israel safe.
2.  Israel and the US intelligence agencies now see eye to eye on how close Iran is to having nuclear weapons.  In the past Obama, and his aides have said the Iranian leaders hadn't made the decision to 'go nuclear,' even though they were enriching uranium. It was always in stark contrast to Netanyahu's statements that Israel was at the threshold. This time Obama said, "our intelligence cooperation on this issue, the consultation between our militaries, our intelligence, is unprecedented, and there is not a lot of light, a lot of daylight between our countries' assessments in terms of where Iran is right now." Netanyahu echoed him by saying, "we share information and we have a common assessment" on Iran's nuclear enrichment and weapons development programs.
3.  Both acknowledged that the US and Israel see the threat differently. Obama said, "Israel is differently situated than the United States. And I would not expect that the Prime Minister would make a decision about his country's security and defer that to any other country -- any more than the United States would defer our decisions about what was important for our national security."
4.  Both leaders talked about continuing and extending US military assistance to Israel, with Obama pledging "to preserve Israel's qualitative military edge [and here it is again] so it can defend itself, by itself, against any threat." And just in case reporters missed the significance of this, Netanyahu wrapped up the press conference by saying, "I think you've just heard something that is very meaningful.  It may have escaped you, but it hasn't escaped me. And that is the president announced that in addition to all the aid that his administration has provided -- including the Iron Dome, including defense funding for Israel during very difficult times -- he has announced that we are going to begin talks on another 10-year process arrangement to ensure American military assistance to Israel. I think this is very significant."

 This all sounds good. The U.S. wants to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, but doesn't want another Middle East War to do so.

Diplomacy hasn't worked; neither have sanctions. So let's give Israel the weapons it needs to do the job. Neat, clean, over before you know it, and the U.S. stays out.

The only problem with this scenario is Iran still gets a vote. What happens the day after Israel attacks?

The Iranian regime will be forced to retaliate or be forced out of power. Iran will order its proxies, Hezbollah and Hamas, to fire thousands of missiles into Israel from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

But what if it doesn't stop there?

What if Iran does something in the Strait of Hormuz, like mining the shipping lanes, which only U.S. naval minesweepers can clear? Obama may not want in on this fight, but he might get pulled in nonetheless, because while Israel can start this war, it can't finish it without the United States.

Some argue that even so, the fighting would be over in a few days, and the world would be rid of Iran's nuclear weapons.  But these are the same folks who said the Iraq War would be a cakewalk, cost us almost nothing, be over quickly and result in just a handful of casualties.

I'm not buying that line again. That's why it is absolutely imperative that we find a way out of this train wreck of having to choose between bombing Iran or letting Iran get the bomb.

I keep thinking about how my boss Ronald Reagan won the Cold War without firing a shot.  We turned tables on the Soviet Union by driving their one revenue source (oil) down so low they had to concede or face the ire, even starvation, of their own people.

Time is running out, but there are two things we could do right now to avoid another Middle East war:

1.  We could buy time. By working with tech-savvy Israel, we could launch another round of cyberattacks against Iran's nuclear program and infrastructure.  It might set Iran's weapons program back only a year or so, but it's time we could use to develop our own energy resources.
2.  We could develop our own energy resources.  If we accelerated the already shovel-ready American oil and natural gas projects, within a few short years we would be energy independent.  We would not only have enough oil and natural gas for our own needs, we would have enough left over to become one of the world's leading energy exporters. Then who needs Iranian oil? Sanctions against Iran would be easier to impose if there were secure, abundant and cheap alternatives.

Developing U.S. oil resources would also drive down the price of oil, and leave oil-exporting countries like Iran (and Russia) without enough revenue to pay for the subsidies that keep their people fed and off the streets. Within a very short period of time the Iranian regime would have its hands full just dealing with angry Iranians. They might come to the conclusion that it's their necks or their nukes and voluntarily give them up. If not, it would be the Iranian people rather than Israeli or American military going for their necks.

If I'm right, and Obama has given Netanyahu what amounts to a green light to do what he needs to do to stop Iran, then Obama should take his own counsel and let the American energy industry do what it needs to do to stop Iran.

"Slide Back To Cave"-----DeGrasse. Avoided with Vibrant Space Shuttle----Richardson, Cernan, Aldrin

Read the Case to Save the Shuttle to get an idea of the potential of the system.  With a vibrant shuttle utilizing its ability to place heavy payloads in EO we could maximize the ISS, insert new systems, explore the universe, establish moon settlements, mine astroids, conduct manned mission to mars, increase research in all science & engineering fields, and improve economies on the earth & Improve the lives of people all around the planet!!

AND give our youth goals to aspire to as has been the case in the last 5 decades with shuttle operations, Apollo, Gemini & Mercury.

All that is required is the use & improvement of what we have already designed , fabricated and operated for 50 years.

Mankind would have benefited significantly in all fields of science, the world economy and a general alleviation of human suffering, if our leaders would listen to knowledgeable scientific leaders & were more critical/thorough in assessing/following recommendations to retire shuttle.

The decision to retire shuttle, not evolve & improve & use it as Aldrin said is a very profound decision and has & will have profound impact on mankind.

Considering what time we put into the shuttle system, knowledge we acquired over the decades, the importance to the USA national security, I find it incomprehensible , mind boggling , that our " leaders" have destroyed this system.

The mmu , RMS , Eva suits, airlock are wasting away.  The iss, Hubble must have the shuttle or they will waste away also.

We could have utilized the shuttle for placing vehicles in orbit for missions to moon, Lagrange points, mars, astroids , etc.

This administration want NASA to be a muslim outreach & climate monitoring organization .

The American people should be very mad & email, write their congress people & let them know how you feel!,

28% of Alaska Reserve's Recoverable Oil Declared Off-Limits

Outgoing Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has signed a directive placing 28 percent of the "estimated economically recoverable oil" in Alaska's National Petroleum Reserve off-limits to oil exploration.

The Record of Decision signed by Salazar marks the first time a plan has been put into effect to regulate all of the Reserve.

The action "allows the development of 72 percent of the estimated economically recoverable oil in the nearly 23-million-acre Reserve, while protecting the vital subsistence resources of Alaska Natives and the habitat of world-class wildlife populations," the Interior Department said in a statement.

The plan protects "critical areas for sensitive bird populations" and for "the roughly 400,000 caribou" in parts of the Reserve, the statement asserts.

The statement does not disclose that 28 percent of the Reserve is now closed to development. Simple math does.

The Reserve was set aside by President Warren Harding in 1923 as an emergency oil supply for the U.S. Navy. It was transferred to the Department of the Interior in 1976 and is now known as the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska.

Republicans were quick to criticize Salazar's move.

Rep. Doc Hastings of Washington, chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, said in a statement: "Only in President Obama's backwards worldview of anti-energy policies does it make sense to prohibit energy production in a place specifically set aside for energy production at a time when gasoline prices are skyrocketing."

The village of Nuiqsut, a mostly Alaska Native community in the Reserve, had requested that more land south of nearby Teshekpuk Lake be made available for drilling leases, but the request was ignored by the Interior Department, CNS News reported.

Sen. Mark Begich of Alaska said: "No one disputes the importance of Teshekpuk Lake to waterfowl and caribou, but I think we should listen most closely to those who live there and depend on these critical subsistence resources as well as the economic opportunity resource development can bring."

Salazar, who oversaw a moratorium on offshore drilling after the BP oil spill and promoted alternative energy sources throughout the nation, is stepping down this month.

Obama Administration Buries Good News on Keystone Pipeline

In Washington, a presidential Administration releases news it doesn't like at 5 p.m. on Fridays. So it pays to pay attention when everyone is leaving work for the weekend.

Late last Friday, the State Department released a positive environmental review of the Keystone XL pipeline. President Obama has been delaying this pipeline—which would carry oil from Canada to refineries in Texas—for more than three years.

The delay has meant that America is still waiting on an additional 700,000 to 830,000 barrels of oil per day from a close ally, not to mention 179,000 American jobs.

Why has this taken so long, when all environmental reports thus far have been positive? Heritage's Nicolas Loris, the Herbert and Joyce Morgan Fellow, explains:
Given the need for jobs and more oil on the global market to offset high prices, the permit application had been moving along positively with bipartisan support without much attention until environmental activists made blocking the Keystone XL pipeline their issue to rally around for 2011. Although President Obama and the Department of State (DOS) said they'd make a decision at the end of 2011, they ultimately catered to a narrow set of special interests, punting the decision until after the 2012 elections.

The State Department, which is overseeing the pipeline because it crosses a U.S. border, has "already conducted a thorough, three-year environmental review with multiple comment periods," Loris reported last year.

The review has been comprehensive:
DOS studied and addressed risk to soil, wetlands, water resources, vegetation, fish, wildlife, and endangered species. They concluded that the construction of the pipeline would pose minimal environmental risk. Keystone XL also met 57 specific pipeline safety standard requirements created by DOS and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

Canada has oil to sell, and it isn't likely to wait forever. Forbes writer Brigham McCown said that "Delays in approving the upper portion of the pipeline have bewildered many Canadians who see the U.S. as their closest ally and trading partner."

McCown pointed out that "Even without the pipeline, Canada will continue to extract the oil which would be most likely transported by pipeline and rail to Canada's coast for shipment to Asian markets."

Because the State Department is overseeing the application, the new Secretary of State, John Kerry, will be giving his recommendation on the pipeline. Ultimately, the decision rests with President Obama. But Heritage's David Kreutzer says Congress can, and should, step in if the President continues to block it:
Should the President reject Keystone again, Congress should wield its power to regulate commerce with foreign nations and approve the pipeline's construction once the State Department again finishes its review of the rerouted project.

These delays are pointless. The Keystone pipeline has passed its environmental reviews, and the Obama Administration is only hurting America by holding it up.
